Car Insurance Plymouth (Car Insurance). Can I still get my permit and possibly my license? Can I still get my permit and possibly my license? I was caught driving so I of course went to court and everything. I recieved a court order saying that I can't drive until I am of legal age. Can I still get my permit? I'm sixteen so I was guessing I could still.... the permit test doesn't entitle driving so I was thinking I could still get it... And could I still get my license after a year of having my permit? I know you have to drive during this test so I didn't know if I was able to or not... I don't even know if I can take the test because of the Joshua's law in Georgia stating that I have to have at least 40 hours of driving experience recorded and I'm not allowed to drive until I am of "legal age".... Could someone please shed light on my situation? I live in Georgia if that helps any.... laws might differ after all. If you need more details I can give you more! Just email me at yjusean@gmail.com the court said no driving so no getting permit sorry They said no Driving until you are of legal age. The legal age is the age you must be to obtain your permit. You dont have to drive to take the test so I would say go for it. Auto parts : Replacement Step Pad Acura 1995 . Replacement Step Pad Clip Alfa Romeo 1996 . Ride Height Gauge Audi 1997 . My boyfriend's 1992 GMC Sonoma broke down the other day and the guys at the auto shop said it was the motor, I guess it will need a new one and it will cost $1700 to get that done. That's more than the truck is even worth and we really don't have that much to put into it. To anyone who knows about these things, is that a reasonable cost or are they asking for too much? Car has been sitting for 10 years, recommendation on how to thoroughly clean the body of the car? I bought a 1984 Porsche 944, about 2 months ago. Got it running after hours of working on it, the previous owner has had it in his garage since 2001. The car in general is in mint condition, engine, body and interior. Bottom line is I want to restore the car to the best condition I can (excluding repainting the car), only using products or methods. -Body Paint (Glossy Black). -15 inch alloy wheels (Black). -Leather Interior (Black, want to strengthen and revive the leather). -Dashboard (Black). Now going into something a little more complicated, I want to THOROUGHLY clean the car's exhaust, get rid of all the gunk that's been sitting in it; I mean it runs fine, but I just want to give the car a fine tuning. Any thoughts or ideas which may help improve the car's look or even performance (even though I have that covered pretty much). car insurance. Auto parts : Siren Scion 1999. Slide Hammer Smart 2000. Plymouth . How to Replace a Kia Timing BeltThe 1995 through 1999 Kia Sportage uses a 2.0L engine, which is an interference engine. This means that the engine was built with such close tolerances, that should the timing belt stretch past the scope of the tensioner, the valves will most likely hit the pistons and cause extensive engine damage. For this reason, Kia recommends replacing the timing belt every 60,000 miles. It takes about three hours to replace the timing belt, and no special tools are needed. Difficulty:Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Set of wrenches Set of sockets Torque wrench Step by Step : 1 Disconnect the negative battery cable and lay it aside, ensuring that it does not touch metal. Remove the crankshaft pulley bolts using the appropriate socket. Loosen the accessory drive belt tensioners using the appropriate sockets or wrenches to ease the tension on the belts. Lift the belts off the pulleys. Remove the timing belt covers using the appropriate sockets. 2 Turn the crankshaft clockwise until the "2" on the camshaft sprocket lines up with the mark at the 12 o'clock position. The crankshaft timing mark should be lined up once the "2" mark lines up. Loosen the tensioner retaining bolt. Push the tensioner away from the belt, then tighten the bolt enough to hold the tensioner out of the way. 3 Remove the belt guide plate from the crankshaft sprocket. Lift the timing belt off the sprockets. Loosen the tensioner bolt. Remove the tensioner spring. Measure the spring. If the measurement is not 2.24 inches, replace the spring. Spin the tensioner and guide pulleys. If they make noise or have any resistance, replace them. 4 Install the tensioner spring. Push the tensioner against the spring pressure. Tighten the tensioner bolt enough to keep the tensioner in place. Make sure the timing marks are still lined up. 5 Install the timing belt, working in a counterclockwise direction, starting on the crankshaft sprocket. Keeping the belt taut on the non-tensioned side, route the belt over the water pump pulley, behind the guide pulley, over the camshaft, then behind the tensioner pulley. 6 Loosen the tensioner bolt and allow the tensioner to put tension on the bolt. Turn the crankshaft clockwise two turns. Tighten the tensioner bolt to 32 foot-pounds of torque. Check that the timing marks are still lined up. 7 Apply a load of 22 pounds to the belt halfway between the camshaft sprocket and the guide pulley. The belt should deflect 0.3 to 0.34 inches. If not, repeat the tensioning process (Step 6). 8 Install the guide plate, making sure the convex side is toward the timing belt. Install the rest of the parts in reverse order of removal. Tighten the crankshaft pulley bolts to 10 foot-pounds of torque.
Plymouth . How to Replace a Jetta Timing BeltThe 1993 through 1997 Volkswagen Jetta features a 1.8L engine, which is an interference engine. This means that should the timing belt stretch past the scope of the tensioner, the valves will most likely hit the pistons, causing extensive engine damage. Volkswagen has not specified a specific interval to replace the timing belt, but previous use and service history dictate that it should be changed every 60,000 miles. It takes less than two hours to replace the Jetta's timing belt. A special tensioner wrench is required, available at any Volkswagen dealership. Difficulty:Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Set of wrenches Set of sockets Tensioner wrench No. 2587 Torque wrench Step by Step : 1 Disconnect the negative battery cable and lay it aside, ensuring that it does not touch metal. Loosen the accessory drive belt tensioner, releasing tension on the belts. Lift the accessory drive belts off. If the model you are working on is equipped with a tensioner pulley (as opposed to a slider), remove the pulley. The sliders do not need to be removed. 2 Remove the crankshaft pulley bolts, crankshaft pulley, water pump pulley and the timing belt covers. Temporarily install the crankshaft pulley. Turn the crankshaft clockwise until the timing marks on the crankshaft line up. Check the timing marks on the camshaft. If they are not lined up, turn the crankshaft one more time. The crankshaft timing marks are a line on the intermediate sprocket and a notch on the crankshaft pulley that line up at the 9 o'clock position. The timing marks on the camshaft line up at the 12 o'clock position. 3 Remove the crankshaft pulley. Loosen the tensioner nut. Turn the tensioner counterclockwise, releasing tension on the belt. Lift the timing belt off the pulleys. Check that the timing marks are still lined up. 4 Install the timing belt on the crankshaft sprocket and the intermediate shaft sprocket. Temporarily install the crankshaft pulley. Check that all the timing marks are lined up. Route the timing belt over the camshaft sprocket, keeping it taut on the non-tensioned side. Bring the belt behind the tensioner. 5 Turn the tensioner clockwise using the tensioner wrench until the timing belt can be twisted through 90 degrees, halfway between the camshaft and intermediate shaft sprockets. Tighten the tensioner bolt to 33 foot-pounds of torque. 6 Turn the crankshaft clockwise two turns until the timing marks line up again. Check the belt tension as dictated in Step 5. If the tension is not correct, repeat Steps 5 and 6. 7 Remove the crankshaft pulley. Install the timing belt covers. Tighten the timing belt cover bolts to 7 foot-pounds of torque. Install the crankshaft pulley. Tighten the crankshaft pulley bolts to 15 foot-pounds of torque. Install the rest of the parts in reverse order of removal. Tighten the water pump pulley bolts to 15 foot-pounds of torque. *replace it. If you replace it with a rebuilt unit, you can turn in your old one and receive credit for a core charge. If the springs on the pressure plate become loose, have them replaced. Because excessive wear on any part of your clutch results in wear on the other parts, it's generally a good idea to have the clutch assembly, levers, clutch disk, and throwout bearings checked and, if necessary, replaced at the same time. You can also have the pilot bearing (located where the crankshaft meets the flywheel) checked then, too, which saves you money on labor charges by eliminating the necessity of getting into your clutch and putting it back together a second time. To save yourself from paying for unnecessary R&R (which means removal and repair, not rest and relaxation!), keep this good practice in mind when dealing with other parts of your vehicle as well: If the technicians have to open your transmission, ask them to check the whole thing and replace gaskets and other parts that look as though they're about to go. If they have to open your cylinder head or get into the engine, make sure that they look for potential trouble from the rest of the stuff in there. Part III: Keeping Your Car in Good Condition, System by System Don't give them carte blanche to replace anything they please. Tell them that you want to see the parts that are wearing before they proceed with any unauthorized work. But do keep in mind that a good chunk of the labor cost is associated with just taking stuff apart and putting it back together, so if the mechanics have to do R&R only once, you save money. If your vehicle is equipped with a hydraulic clutch, don't forget to check the fluid level in the clutch master cylinder. It's just like checking the fluid in your brake master cylinder, which I discuss in Chapter 18. Undertaking Transmission Repairs Wisely 798

Your second line of defense is to understand what the basic kinds of transmission work involve. Here are the various types of work that your vehicle may require and what each of them entails: If your transmission needs servicing: • The transmission fluid should be changed, if necessary. Chapter 17: What to Do If Your Transmission Stops Running Smoothly " If your transmission must be replaced: The old transmission must be removed and a new one installed. You do have an option as to whether you replace it with a used, rebuilt, or new transmission. I make the distinction between used and rebuilt because you can buy a transmission from a wrecking yard that has salvaged one designed for your vehicle's year, make, and model. This option is cheap, but risky. Or you can find a rebuilt one that has been salvaged and then completely refurbished and warranted for at least three months. These cost a bit more, but you get a chance to make sure that the thing is in good working order. Occasionally, gearshifts may become hard to move. This problem can happen if the gearshift linkage, which connects the shift lever to the rods that go to the transmission, needs adjustment, lubrication, or minor repair. These repairs aren't expensive and should certainly be investigated before you let anyone talk you into major transmission work. Plymouth . What means lark in automotive jerk?
